Tips to Help You Get Rid Of Stains on Countertops

While prepping breakfast, lunch, dinner and doing all other sorts of chores on your countertop there is obviously going to be a chance where you’ll have to end up with stains on these. When such stains are left uncleaned for long hours getting rid of them becomes harder over time. So here are some tips you could use to clean stains on your countertop.

Removing Stains from White Counters

So if you own a white countertop you probably know that stains on it is as visible as a black dot is on a plain paper. However,  bet you didn’t know how easy it is to remove a mark like this from your kitchen bench. All you need is some good ole baking soda and voila your stains gone. Sprinkle some of the soda on the stain so that is covers the stains and using elbow grease brush over the stain and clean it.

Removing KoolAid Stains

Coloured Kool aid stains are also one of the most bothersome to get rid of. However, just like with the previous one all you need is to make a paste of baking soda and water. Combine the two and scrub over the stain. Let it sit for a while and then wash.

Thinner for Laminate Countertops

If you have Formica countertops using lacquer thinner to remove stains is the most effective. But you need to keep in mind that you avoid using these on the wooden edges as it could lose its colour and finish.

Fruit Stains Using Dishwasher Gel

Certain fruits have a rather strong colour that even getting them on your clothes would leave you struggling for hours to get rid of them. Similarly, such stains on white countertops could also destroy that clean shine you are aiming for. So the best thing you could do is to clean these then and there. Using dishwasher gel on a wet cloth place it on the stain for a while. Let it soak in and watch the stain disappear once and for all!

Food Colouring Stains Using Cream Of Tartar

If you are one to constantly bake a lot and make things from different shades using colouring you would know that getting stains is probably unavoidable. However, did you know that you could remove these without much hassle. Well if you didn’t, now you do! All you need is to make a paste of cream of tartar and water and place it on the stain and rub it off with a cloth. If it doesn’t come off at once let it sit for a while and voila no more stains!
